Logo Design Guru Wins 10 American Graphic Design Awards
LANGHORNE-Logo Design Guru is excited to announce that it has won ten (10) American Graphic Design Awards.
This is the third consecutive year Logo Design Guru has been acknowledged. It is also the first year it has won awards in the Web Design and Brochure Design categories bringing its American Graphic Design Award total to 21.
“In 2007, we were excited to have 8 designs chosen, in 2008 we were blown away by having 10 designs chosen in multiple categories.” says Joe Witte Vice President, Logo Design Guru. “It speaks volumes about our designers and is a testament to both their creativity and design flexibility.”
Judged by a nationwide panel of creative professionals, the prestigious awards sponsored by design journal Graphic Design USA recognizes outstanding work from the creative world, and has highlighted the best in design for nearly 40 years.
The Winners for 2008 are: Ali Baba Oriental Rugs, Community Unity, Heritage Stoneworks, Ace Film Festival, Jason Ellis Realty, Groomin’ & Roomin’, Funders Group and Jungle Sport, and Bodegas Taco Shop, and Barun Angel Group.

Designing for the Troops: Logo Design Guru Designs U.S. Army Platoon’s Logo
LANGHORNE, Pennsylvania- Logo Design Guru, one of the web’s leading Logo and Web design firms is proud to design a logo for a U.S Army platoon stationed in Afghanistan.
The logo design, which is reminiscent of a 1940’s style glamor pinup, will serve as the unofficial logo of the 3-5 Distribution Platoon.
Nicknamed the “Crazy 3-5,” the 3-5 Distribution Platoon provides fuel and ammunition for the OH-58 Kiowa helicopter as part of the 2nd Squadron 17th Cavalry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division.
Platoon leader Lt. Robert Deaton Smith describes the nickname
“I have the term “crazy” come from the fact that there tends to be a lot of down time when aircraft aren’t flying and my Soldiers tend to dream up some ridiculous things to do and then they actually do them! All in all this is the best job a Lieutenant could ever have.”
Although the firm designs logos primarily for small and start up business, the design took on special meaning to Logo Design Guru’s Partner and Vice President Joe Witte, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Logo Design Guru Helps Make Center’s Logo Visible
LANGHORNE PA- Logo Design Guru, one of the web’s leading Logo and Web design firms is proud to design a logo for Duke University’s Center for Metamaterials and Integrated Plasmonics.
The newly created center, which is part of Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering, focuses on electromagnetic structures of artificially created materials, called metamaterials.
The Center has also garnered major attention from both the scientific community and the news media for the design of a cloaking device that bends light, which makes objects appear to disappear.
This cloak uses metamaterials to bend microwaves around an object. By completing this process with minimal changes in the original data, the object appears to be invisible. This process could possibly revolutionize wireless communication technologies, and improve data transmission.
The Center wanted Logo Design Guru, to create an abstract logo befitting of both their scientific mission
and setting a professional yet accessible tone.
Striking a balance between science and design was important. “We wanted something unique, modern, and abstract. We wanted it to look professional.” said Autumn Wenner, Business Manager for the Duke Center For Metamaterials And Integrated Plasmonics.
Although Logo Design Guru, has previously created logos for academic and scientific institutions working with the Duke Center for Metamaterials and Integrated Plasmonics was an exciting challenge.
The logo features a stylized sphere, orbited by alternating green and blue rings. Like the logo, the invisibility cloak itself is composed by a series of concentric circles that allow for the microwaves to bend so smoothly
One of Logo Design Guru’s logo design consultants was initially concerned, “Working with Autumn, and a group of such respected scientists was great however. Initially I was concerned, that they would have overly complex ideas about the design of their logo, but all of their ideas were conveyed clearly and effectively with the end result being a great logo.”

LogoLounge Chooses 5 Logo Design Guru Designs for Publication
LANGHORNE PA-Logo Design Guru, one of the web’s leading logo and web design firms is proud to be selected by Logo Lounge Inc, for inclusion in the 5th edition of its its design compilation series Logo Lounge.
This is the second year in a row Logo Design Guru has been acknowledged by Logo Lounge, the leading guide to the industry’s best logo design.
Submitted logos were selected and screened by an international panel of judges from the world of design. This years panel includes, Andreas Karl of Karl Design, Von Glitschka of Glitschka Studios, Michelle Sonderegger of Design Ranch, Sarah Moffat of Turner Duckworth, Jamie Koval of VSA Partners, Vince Frost of Frost Design, Bronwen Rautenbach of The Brand Union, and Alex de Janosi of Lippincott.
Logo Lounge Volume 5 will feature 5 logos designed by Logo Design Guru, bringing its total to 10 logos for both Logo Lounge Volume 4 and Logo Lounge Volume 5.
